Heat transfer performance of finned tube radiator

The heat transfer performance of different batches of finned tube heat exchanger was tested, and it was found that the difference of heat transfer capacity was as high as 8%. Find out the main manufacturing process of finned tube heat exchanger which has a great impact on heat transfer performance, point out that the appropriate control of manufacturing process deviation can effectively reduce the impact on the performance of finned tube heat exchanger, and carry out test verification, the performance deviation can be reduced to 1%.

For the three arrangements of rectangular finned elliptical tube heat exchanger, the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method is used, and the standard k- ε Turbulence model and enhanced wall function method are used to obtain the flow and heat transfer data of the heat exchanger. On this basis, the entropy generation analysis method of the second law of thermodynamics is used to analyze the entropy generation of the heat exchanger under different tube bundle arrangements and structural parameters.


Using Taguchi method, the contribution rate of various structural factors of different permutations to entropy generation is obtained, and the optimal combination of structural parameters with minimum entropy generation is given for wrong permutations and wrong permutations. It is found that the irreversible loss of staggered structure is the smallest, while the loss of aligned structure is the largest. The transverse tube spacing is an important factor affecting the entropy generation of staggered structures, and for staggered structures, the transverse tube spacing plays a leading role in the pressure entropy generation.
